What is 5S?

5S is develop by Japanese. it's referred to as housekeeping system. 5S may be a system for organising place so work are often performed efficiently, effectively, and safely. this technique focuses on putting everything where it belongs and keeping the workplace clean, which makes it easier for people to try to to their jobs without dalliance or risking injury.


5S Translation

The term 5S comes from five Japanese words:

Seiri

Seiton

Seiso

Seiketsu

Shitsuke

In English, these words are often translated to:


Sort- Remove all unwanted material

Set so as - Put material in sequence which is left after sorting

Shine - Cleaning process

Standardize - Give proper identification

Sustain - Place material in proper location as per identification



5S Implementation:

5S is main a part of industries and that we can implement 5S in three step-


Step 1 : Train Managing Staff- the primary training is to tend to managers, foremen and line leaders. additionally to the course, frequent visits on the workplace will reveal numerous samples of lack of order, tidiness, dust, obsolete parts or documents still lying around. Taking pictures to stay in mind original state and by collecting more picture makes a pleasant before/after album.


Step 2 : Effective starting of 5S- Managers, foremen and line leaders to taught the 5S spirit and techniques to their teams, top-down. 5S Patrol

Step 3 : Turn 5S into Daily task- When 5S were began and this technique understood, it had been able to be became regular job.Yearly 5S target are to be assigned to divisions, as a neighborhood of their quality targets. Average results of all monthly 5S audits should meet that focus on . So, patrols were kept after kick-off period.
